Aimee Quemuel
Aimee Quemuel is an avid animal advocate and creator of FightDogCancer.com, an online tool for fighting dog cancer. The “mamma” of Golden Retrievers Cody and CJ, Aimee, founded FightDogCancer.com, after Cody was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma, an incurable and highly aggressive cancer. With tumors in his liver, spleen and heart, Cody was given the grim prognosis of just a few days to live. Aimee was devastated, but could not let Cody go without a fight. Like many dog owners, she hit the Internet to make sense of it all. It took her countless weeks and late night hours to gather the information she needed to put together a treatment plan - all while trying to keep strong for her boy. That is when the idea of FightDogCancer.com was born.
The free service combines common technologies used in a dog cancer fight such as social networks, support groups, RSS feeds, blogs, bookmarks and spreadsheets to create a singular knowledge-based weapon for fighting dog cancer. A one stop online tool for dog owners to manage all aspects of their dog cancer fight – from education, to collaboration and support, to creating and executing a treatment plan, to helping others in their dog cancer fight - FightDogCancer.com’s goal is to provide dog owners with an easier way to manage their dog cancer fight.
