Goals
for the reader:
The purpose
behind publishing this book is to
provide the many young professionals
entering the business world a realistic
view of how business is done and
what they can expect to encounter.
It will also help those individuals
that display the skills and talents
needed to progress up the ladder
but somehow never seem to get the
opportunity. The blitz method will
hopefully convince readers they
can put significant control of their
career in their own hands despite
the numerous forces that hold them
back.
The approach presented will be from an insider's point of view. The concepts are current and relevant to situations individuals will face in today's business world. Typically strategies for career advancement are presented from academics or consultants. These authors typically work with individuals at the higher levels of the organization that are considerably removed from the trials and tribulations in climbing the ladder. This book presents the story from the soldier who just stepped off the field of battle when the echo of the bombs, the smell of the powder and the heat from the wounds are still fresh in his mind.
Readers will finally get a real look inside the career ladder.
This information will help them
develop a strategy map (literally)
that can be used throughout their
whole career.
"'Blitz
the Ladder' provides an in-depth
view at a unique approach to
improving your career. This
involves developing your own
team of supporters who focus
on managing the team's perception
to managers and the organization.
It's a simple active technique
that doesn't require one to
learn complicated concepts or
figure out how to apply the
typical academic advice to their
situation. It works, and this
book will give you the knowledge
to make it work for you."
"This book will help the reader improve his/her career by applying a group-based technique, termed the 'Blitz', designed to overcome many of the barriers to upward mobility within an organization."

Blitz the Ladder
A Team-Based Approach to Getting Ahead in Business
by Todd Rhoad
'Blitz the
Ladder' provides an in-depth view
at a unique approach to improving
your career. This involves developing
your own team of supporters who
focus on managing the team's perception
to managers and the organization.
It's a simple active technique that
doesn't require one to learn complicated
concepts or figure out how to apply
the typical academic advice to their
situation.
The book is presented from the viewpoint
that the reader has hit the preverbal
glass ceiling, rendering their career
mobility totally stagnant or wandering
aimlessly. It is designed to put
the "mobile" back into
mobility without the need to totally
reinvent yourself to overcome your
flaws. The book starts out painting
a rather stark portrait of the average
organization and the resources within
it which employees consider to be
critical in developing their careers.
While most books seek to motivate
more than educate, Rhoad explains
how in most companies these resources
aren't very useful and are quite
often misguided. He analyzes the
employee, immediate manager, human
resources, and informal networks
in terms of both their pro's and
con's.
In spite of the normal complications
in moving up in a company, the book
provides a new method, termed the
"Blitz," which is designed
to easily overcome many of the barriers
to upward mobility. This group-based
technique is compared to the common
individual method of career progression.
Rhoad guides the reader in determining
the team size, selecting team members,
developing career strategy, avoiding
Plateauing and maintaining sufficient
team and individual motivation.
Praise for this book:
"With this book, you can save yourself months and even years in moving upward and onward in your job and your career."
Brian Tracy, Bestselling Author and International Expert on Entrepreneurship and Selling
