Jesus Drank, Judas Repented and God Divorced His Bride (2nd Edition)
Jesus Drank, Judas Repented and God Divorced His Bride is a positive, Christian non-fiction book regarding:
- The use of alcoholic beverages then and now
- The repentance of Judas Iscariot
- God's divorce
- Divorce in the modern world The untold Bible story of David and the princess
This book forces you to re-evaluate your understanding of the bible, re-look at the passages and re-consider their meaning.
Examples of common biblical knowledge challenges:
- Ask anybody how many animals of each kind Noah took on the ark and they'll probably say two. However, God told Noah to take fourteen of most. Yes, there were fourteen reindeer on the ark!
- The prophet Ezra blessed a divorce and proclaimed that the men should "be of good courage, and do it." Ezra 10: 3-5. God divorced Israel (Isaiah 50:1.) Now please, make no mistake, this book isn’t pro-divorce or pro-drunkenness. Rather, it was written to provide bible based hope, no matter your current station in life and in spite of all of your failures, past, present and future. God’s grace has you covered!
- Regarding forgiveness, Mathew 27:3 clearly states that Judas (a.) repented, (b.) confessed his sin publicly and (c.) gave the money back. So, with Christ standing in earshot of this confession, two questions arise regarding Judas: Would Christ forgive Judas? Did Christ forgive him?
When it comes to real-life issues, many people are unsure and /or unaware of the simplistic guidance the bible offers. Why? Perhaps the subjects are too controversial to talk about in a church setting. Can you imagine the stir these road side church reader boards would cause?
Sundays Sermon:

Sundays Sermon:

I’ll go out on a limb and say most pastors would be in jeopardy of job termination if they wrote a sermon of this nature, and then posted the title, on Monday morning, on the reader board out in front of the church.
Why is this book different?
Using solid Biblical references, this book seeks to stir up heightened interest in what the Bible says by questioning even the most primary, and most popular biblical teachings.
The message in many religious books is often "sugar coated" and non-controversial. But, the Bible isn't. Neither is Jesus Drank, Judas Repented and God Divorced His Bride (2nd Edition).
Book Reviews
"...an engaging and thoughtful book that will hopefully help launch the reader out of the glib, one-dimensional "comfort-zone" that so many Christians live in with regard to understanding the Scriptures. While I don't agree with one key premise, more a provocative suggestion really, that Mr. Brown presents (see John 17:12), I nonetheless enjoyed the book and recommend it to anyone who wants to "search out a matter (Proverbs 25:2) in regard to the deeper truths of God's Word."
Eric Holmberg, author, founder and director of The Apologetics Group
"A fresh look that reawakens the well-known stories of the bible and sends you digging to hear more. It keeps you engaged and alert and reminds you not to be a lazy learner."
Robin Willis, a Southern Female Presbyterian Running a Local Bible Studies Group

Jesus Drank, Judas Repented and
God Divorced His Bride (2nd Edition)
by Steve Brown
Comments on "Jesus Drank, Judas Repented and God Divorced His Bride (2nd Edition)" by the author, Steve Brown.
Why did you write this book?
Since I was a child I’ve been taught many things from the Bible that weren’t true. For example, most people think Noah took two of all the animals on the ark, however it was fourteen of most (Genesis 7:2.) Granted, the number of animals on the ark isn't that important, but the teaching on divorce is important. As I searched through the Bible, I realized that flawed teaching on many important life subjects is widespread throughout the Christian world. With 5,000 hours of personal research involved I am confident arguing the accuracy of Jesus Drank, Judas Repented and God Divorced His Bride (2nd Edition).
What will the reader walk away with after reading the book?
Readers leave with a heightened interest in the scriptures. In the end, readers are reminded about the importance or forgiving others. The chapter on Judas may be the greatest example of forgiveness in all of scripture and this book lays a solid argument in Judas’s corner and in the corner of every other sinner alive. This is a book filled with evidence that must be reckoned with.
Book Reviews
“Steve Brown’s book will surprise you. It is, and it is not, what the title conveys. With a well researched approach, Brown develops the “Big Three” premises in the title; his conclusions will inspire and challenge you. It is obvious from the beginning that Steve Brown is an ardent follower of Jesus, and is seeking to live a genuinely Christ-centered life before God and people. I highly recommend this thought-provoking book. Whether you agree with his conclusions or not, you will be stirred.”
Dr. J. Douglas Gehman

"The title is shocking and the contents amazing! This is truly a new display of grace directly from the word of God. Every Christian, historian, and even atheist should read this book, highly recommended!"
Wayne Sutton, TheSecondAdam.com
"After Reading over 300 Christian titles (including the Bible,) there's no doubts this book will shift your thoughts, challenge your beliefs, and open your heart to the true grace and love of God. I bought it out of pure curiosity, studied it with eyes wide open, and fell even deeper in love with the truths that most people have never been taught before!"
Rome Batchelor, Entrepreneur
"In this book, the author, in keeping with the tradition of Ezra who read the entire scroll of the Torah to the people, and interpreted the deeper meanings of the stories of the Torah to the assembled crowd, is showing how the scripture can be made meaningful to today’s time. In the old days, the words were spoken as a story and explained based on the needs of the moment. Later, fear of loss, created the written word which became dogma. I applaud the effort to resurrect the tradition of telling these beautiful stories and embellish them with a moral lesson germane to current affairs."
Sam Gill, Professor, San Francisco State University
"Of course, Jesus drank wine. Of course, Judas had some regrets. Of course, some Old Testament prophets used the metaphor that God was like a faithful husband to his people Israel, but Israel was so unfaithful to God that God must divorce her. If this were all, the book would be proving the obvious. But, time after time the book proved to be a powerful presentation and promotion of the most basic ideas of Christianity, loving, giving, and forgiving. And it manages to get this message across, not in the stuffy, pompous language of many sermons, but in delightfully colloquial English. Enjoy it!"
James T. McDonough, Jr., Ph.D. from Columbia University and Biblical Studies Professor at a number of Universities.
From the Author
Divorce was a brutal, life changing experience for me. Let me sum it up: I lost about $500,000 in the year 2000 tech crash and had to sell the house. The moving truck was in our driveway. My ex-wife called me into our bedroom, closed the door behind me and said in a quiet and serious tone, " I’m going to divorce you." And she kept good on her promise.
I began searching the scriptures to learn what the Bible actually says about divorce. What I discovered is that God divorced his own bride (Isaiah 50:1) and that a divorce of hundreds pleased God (Ezra 10:11.) It was then that I asked myself, “What else have I not learned?” So, I began to research and then I began to write.
Matthew 27: 3 states that Judas Iscariot repented, confessed his “sin” publicly, and returned the money. I’d never heard anybody expound on these facts. While nobody can prove the final disposition of Judas, the scriptures provide compelling evidence, including a promise from Christ himself regarding the final disposition of Judas Iscariot.
As I studied, I also found primary stories that were quite provocative. For example, Noah took fourteen reindeer on the ark. And then, consider the true story of David and Goliath:
And then, consider the true story of David and Goliath: David ran from Goliath when he first met him (I Samuel 17: 24.) The true story is a great story, I want my children to know why David ran, and why he changed his mind and went back to take on Goliath in a fight to the death… and a battle to decide the fate of a nation. This powerful, life-changing story is virtually untold… until now.
With heavy research and hundreds of footnotes, Jesus Drank, Judas Repented and God Divorced His Bride is a roller-coaster ride through bible facts and history. A ride filled with a wealth of information overlooked for centuries. If you’re expecting to discover new answers to current problems, you won’t be disappointed.

Nothing
has done more to harm the cause of Christ than ill-tempered Christians. Neither

sins represented in a single episode of ill temper.
Divorce
was a life changing experience for me. I felt Christ still cared and had forgiven
me, but it seemed that most Christians felt otherwise. Discouraged with the self-righteous
attitudes of others, I began searching the scriptures to learn what the Bible
actually says about divorce. What I discovered is that God divorced his own bride
(Isaiah 50:1) and that a divorce of hundreds pleased God (Ezra 10:11.) As I asked

Matthew
27: 3 states that Judas Iscariot repented, confessed his sin publicly
and returned the money. Id never heard anybody expound on these facts. While
nobody can prove the final disposition of Judas, the scriptures provide compelling
evidence that Judas Iscariot found grace.
As I studied,
I also found primary stories that were quite provocative. For example, (as mentioned
above) Noah took fourteen reindeer on the ark. Then consider the story of David
and Goliath: I want my children to know why, at first sight David ran from Goliath
(I Samuel 17: 24) and I want my children to know why he came back and killed Goliath.
Sadly, this is a powerful, life-changing true story that is virtually untold.
With
heavy research and hundreds of footnotes, 'Jesus Drank, Judas Repented and God
Divorced His Bride' is a roller-coaster ride through bible facts, history and
sensitive life subjects that have been ignored by the mainstream church for centuries.
Love and forgiveness are the central themes and most readers will discover new
answers to old problems. Unbelievable, but true life-changing answers.
