Mary Tyler Doub
Mary Tyler Doub was one of the founding members of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), Owensboro, KY (1985). The producer for the Winterhawk Bluegrass Festival, Ancramdale, NY (1985-1999) and now The Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, Oak Hill, NY (1999-present). She served the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), Owensboro, KY as its' Vice President (1986-1990), and Chairperson of the Board of Directors (1990-1996). In 1997 she is the well deserved recipient of the Certificate of Merit for the outstanding contributions to bluegrass music from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA). She also started the scholarship to assist bluegrass musicans by co-founding the Winterhawk (now Grey Fox) Scholarship Fund in 1987. Currently, she serves as Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the International Bluegrass Music Museum, Owensboro, KY.
Mary Burdette Mary Burdette has been in love with bluegrass music since the days of the Berkshire Mountain Festival, where, in 1977, bluegrass captured her heart, soul and imagination. Mary’s musical experiences (she plays acoustic bass) include performing at the European World of Bluegrass in the Netherlands, touring Trinidad and Tobago in a cultural exchange sponsored by the US government and appearing at such noteworthy events as the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, NV and the Lunenburg Harbour Folk Festival in Nova Scotia. Mary can be heard on the original soundtrack of the PBS documentary, “Lewis and Clark: The Journey of the Corps of Discovery” by renowned filmmaker, Ken Burns and several bluegrass and old time cowboy recordings.
The consummate organizer, Mary is an active member of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) and a founding member of the Leadership Bluegrass Alumni Association. As the assistant director of the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, Mary is involved in every aspect of planning and ensuring that everyone has a ton of fun while attending the annual festival.
